Granite is a coarse-grained rock that is formed by volcanic action and slowly cooled under intense pressure. It consists of quartz, feldspar and mica and other minerals.
The very dense grain of granite makes it very resistant to stains and scratches. Polished granite will withstand extreme environments. The color possibilities of granite are almost endless and they may sometimes be infused with minerals that give it color as well as pattern and movement.
Granite countertops don’t depreciate.
Each piece of granite has it’s on personality like a fingerprint.
Granite makes your home more valuable
Granite is sanitary and cannot be contaminated by bacteria.
Because granite is formed by heat and extreme pressure, it can easily take the heat of a pan.
Simply clean with warm water and a mild detergent.
The way quartz slabs are produced allows the manufacturer to ensure that the slab is exactly the color, texture and pattern that you want. There are no defects in the slab to cut around and run up the cost.
You get the exact color, texture and pattern you want because of the way the quartz slab is produced. Since there are no defect in the slab there is less waste.
Manufacturers make Quartz countertop material by mixing 93% natural quartz stone with 7% resin binder with color. This mixture creates and incredibly countertop that is stronger that granite. The quartz slab is the same working thickness as other materials and the same tools and equipment are used to shape it.
Granite is a porous stone with tiny capillary channels between the minerals. For example if wine is spilled on unsealed granite, the wine could sink into these channels and there’s a chance permanently stain the stone. Because of the resin Quartz has no channels so it doesn’t need sealing and it’s very stain resistant.
Granite countertops must be sealed regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria and staining. A countertop Quartz doesn’t require sealing or other regular maintenance to maintain its beauty.
Quartz is manufactured in a huge variety of colors, and the color is consistent throughout the entire slab due to the manufacturing process.
Cleaning the Quartz countertop is easy. Simply use soap and water to restore it to it’s original look. No special anti-bacterial soaps are needed.
Probably the biggest advantage of Laminate is that it can be used as a substitute for other countertop materials such as Corian®, Granite and Quartz for a fraction of the cost. When built and installed correctly you can get stunning results.
Some laminate is textured in such a way to give the appearance of natural stone. If you want to recreate a stone look on your countertop or workspace Laminate can accomplish this on a budget.
Laminate is very durable and stain resistant and will give you years of beautiful service. It will maintain it’s “like new” appearance for years with very little maintenance.
Countertops built using Laminate are impervious to heat, oil stains and other liquids. Germs and bacteria cannot permeate it’s surface so it’s easy to maintain a clean safe workspace.
